At the Playing Card Factory, you can order as little as one deck. That’s right, there is no minimum order quantity for playing cards across all of our design options, and it is always made with our premium, black-core card stock, just like the larger orders. This is in comparison to many of the other companies selling custom playing cards that require a minimum quantity of anywhere from 15 decks to 1,000 decks.

Who orders small quantities?

There are many types of people who would order their cards in lower quantities than large corporate orders, for example 10 decks or fewer. A playing card minimum order size of 1 deck would likely appeal to you if you were ordering cards as a gift to a friend or loved one for birthdays, Christmas, or other holidays; if you are planning a family gathering; or if you would use them for game nights. For game nights, custom playing cards can bring extra flair, be something neat to show your game group, or you can use it to remember some fond memories, if you include a group picture on the back. You may also order in small quantities if you are designing your own custom card or board game and need to prototype it. (Find out what custom deck is best for you)

Why no minimum orders for custom playing cards matters

Clearly, having no minimum order quantity matters, and it applies for all of our custom playing card options. Higher minimum orders, like some of the other options available, can entirely exclude certain people from ordering. If you were designing a custom game, you would likely order only a few decks as prototypes to test your game out, if not just one deck. In this case, especially considering that the game would be in early stages, the cost of ordering at a higher minimum quantity, say 15, or even 100, would be prohibitive and could stop the development of the game entirely, or it would lead to an unwise overinvestment in inventory. Alternatively, since high minimum order quantities could stop initial prototyping, it could prevent proper testing before committing to a larger print run, which costs a lot more money.

As for game nights and family get-togethers, a higher minimum order would mean having to buy far more decks than you need for your group. If the order minimum were higher than the number of decks you need, the cost could stop the order before the decks are even designed.

How to place your order

There are only a few steps in placing your order, and the process is the same for all quantities.

  • Step 1: Choose which deck design option you like (which one works best for you)
  • Step 2: Enter the needed quantity of decks
  • Step 3: Design the decks using your own photos, custom designs, or using design options provided in the free online tool for designing playing cards [internal link to blog post tutorial]
